Ideas
In today's lesson we were deciding on what songs to do that don't already have a music video. We have some song suggestions but nothing is certain yet. So far we have a song choice that we will have is Neyo and Jennifer Hudson leaving tonight. We looked at existing music videos to get ideas on how to do the music video which would be loved based on.

artist: Beyonce
song: sorry
date: 22/06/16
producer: Onye Anyanwu
This music video is about how Beyonce isn't sorry about what she's done and she's not bothered thinking about the other person because she's got better things to worry about and how people won't catch her worrying about them. The beginning of the music video is quite narrative which I like because it tells an in-depth story of what she's talking about which coordinates with the music video which is that she's not sorry about anything and that she couldn't care less about what happens. As a whole, I think that the music video is more of a narrative plus performance based along with the rest of her other songs and this video is more conceptual based too because it's related to everyday life for most people. The representation of the artist is that she's independent, outgoing and mature. The camera angles in the music video include tracking of the lady walking so the audience is moving along with the lady to where she's gonna lead them. This music video is black and white too which links to her mood and the locations and her costumes. Also with this music video, there are many cuts so it's in line with the beat. the mise en scene would be in the back of a van and inside a house. The people in the music video have face paint on which expresses the mood of the people and the atmosphere. There's lip sync used in this music video because there's also background signing that she sings to also. The target audience will once again be young teenagers as they can relate because teenagers nowadays have that type of attitude of not caring about things that don't really mean anything. From this music video, I would use the black and white effect and the cutting rates and I would want my music video to also tell a story because that's what makes it more interesting.

artist: beyonce
song: dance for you
date: 27/11/2011
producer: beyonce
Dance for you is an appreciation video from the females side towards her male partner. This music video is performance based by looking at the video shes expressing her affections for her lover. The theme of this music video is love and she talks about how much she appreciates and how devoted she is. the representation of the artist (beyonce) shows her views towards her lover from her perspective and she uses some sexual terms in the lyrics as it is between her and her lover.
the video is black and white and shes dressed in fancy clothing which makes it look quite chic shes as wearing a short dress with black silk gloves and diamond bangles and earrings with heels. in the video it seems as if shes luring the man in by her dancing and her outfit. at 2:46 there was a replay which is quite effective as it isnt seen in many videos and it kind of links to what shes singing because shes listing things that has been done for her and the replay could suggest that she wants them again. At 3:08 there was a slight zoom in as the ladies are in a line facing the camera also there are a lot of cuts so its in line with the beat which makes the video interesting because when everything is in beat the music video looks more professional. Theres also tracking used in the dancing bit to get the dancers and beyonce herself in as they all dance in one line. lip sync is used throughout the whole video but there is background singing as well as the main song being played and beyonce is ringing the actual lyrics while she has her background voice too. lip syncing sounds better with no background noise and most most music videos have the artist lip sync to their own song. The target audience i would say is young girls mostly because the song is based on her how much she appreciates her lover and most girls can relate to how she feels. From this music video i would use the black and white effect and the different cut rates which are in line with the beat because i feel like it makes the video look so much better and everything is in sync with eachother.

artist: kiss daniel
song: mama
date: 20/04/16
producer: young john
The video is narrative based, it tells a story about the singer (kiss daniel) and his love towards the woman in the music video. the woman meets with a car accident and ends up in hospital and as soon as kiss daniel finds out about her accident he rushes to the hospital to look after his lover and makes feel at ease. the lyrics work with the video, as stated in the lyrics he talks about cherishing her and wanting to make her feel special which is clearly seen in the video.
the representation of the singer: kiss daniel is shown as a well-mannered gentleman who knows how to treat a woman and is there for his lady. From this video, you can clearly see how he is with women in general and his feelings towards the lady in the video and it gives a message to other men who will listen to the song and realise how important women are to them.
camera angles: this music video has many cuts which show each scene is different places such as the car, kitchen, hospital, terrace, and bedroom. there are many close up shots and theres a depth of field when the lady is in hospital of her hand on the bed. and hand held camera when the car meets with an accident, the car losing control.
Theres a special effect where theres a gun shot at 1:53 and theres a crack on the screen which is very effective - visually. There's lip sync used to make the music video sound and look more professional and that's what brings your audience closer because with a bad video you wont be getting many views or likes.
i would use the special effects from this video only because its different and its not seen in many music videos.
